VMF Design

We came up with the idea when trying to figure out how to mount the coils on a phono cartridge directly onto the cantilever, as closely as possible on the diamond rather than at the end of the cantilever, on the aluminum part.

The commonly used structure, involved an aluminum tube between the coils and the diamond. As a result, some of the advantages of the exceptional physical properties of the main cantilever material (boron, ruby etc) became weaker.

We solved this problem with the VMF design (V MAGNETIC FIELD). We created two separate coils and mounted them as a V shape at 90 degrees on the boron or ruby part of the cantilever. Subsequently, we placed axially on those coils, two separate big powerful neodymium magnets to trigger the coils, in order to produce the signal.

This design has many advantages.

ACCURACY

By placing the coils closer to the diamond and on top of the boron or ruby part of the cantilever, without involving the aluminum tube, we managed to maximize the detail and accuracy of the vibrations that reach the coils. This results in a very accurate signal.

SOUND STAGE

The VMF design gives a “distance” at 90 degrees between the coils and each one works independently from one another, with its own magnetic field. We call them “monoblock coils”. This design gives an exceptional sound stage.

CHANNEL BALANCE

This design has two separate magnetic fields which enable us to adjust their distance against the coils, leading to an accurate channel balance adjustment.
